I'm READY for Summer...

Both of these pictures have significant meaning to me....First, the "No Smoking" sign is one of the first pictures I took while getting started in photography. I'm also thrilled with the statewide smoking ban in MN. It now means I can take my wife and kids into a restaurant and actually enjoy the meal without getting sick from inhaling my neighbors "passion stick" next to me. Ah, to breathe!
The 2nd photo, reminds me of the "boys of summer!" Opening day for Major League Baseball is just around the corner and this radio reminds me of the days I sat in a lawn chair under the Iowa sun listening to the Chicago Cubs with my Grandpa Jake. We would sit for hours under the maple tree in his front yard and pass along "thumbs up" to each other as the Cubs would score runs. Those were the days of Ryan Sandberg and Harry Carey! I also shot the radio the same day as the first photo posted. I would hate to show you what happened to this great location...Let's just say that the DOT owns the land now. Very sad!!
I got some new actions awhile back and thought I'd play around tonight! Have a great weekend!

Easter 2008

We had a wonderful Easter. As a text message from my friend Brian was sent Easter morning it said, "He has risen." We are reminded at Easter about the opportunity to have a new meaning/beginning in our lives through Jesus. We hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family as well. We spent Saturday morning dyeing Easter eggs so the Easter bunny could come on Sunday (I won't even tell you how long the Easter bunny came to my house when I was a kid. I was horrified when I heard the news that.......you know!!!). The boys ended up with dye all over the table and their clothes but they had a great time coloring the eggs. Once again, I rarely post process my family photos so these are straight out of the camera. I will try and post some shots from Easter morning when I get a chance...just wanted to share with you some shots from the weekend! Have a great week!

Peace,

Is this my new studio???

You might think that I have moved Ben Dodds Photography into a new space....Not yet (maybe someday we'll have our own studio)! However, my friends Patrick & Kris recently remodeled their home and added 4 new pictures to their wall. We spent some time this past fall south of the river walking through some fields and capturing some awesome family photos. I've had the privilege to photograph their family several times in the 1.5 years. Don't their family portraits look great on their wall? It's always fun to see your work in print. Thanks guys for sharing...

Sibling Love...

TO VIEW SLIDESHOW CLICK HERE

Last week I had the opportunity to visit Alex and Maggie for a little photo shoot. Alex was adorable in his winter stocking cap and Maggie was just precious in her momma's arms. Hey Alex, I hope you had a great State of MN High School playoff hockey weekend! It won't be too long before you're slappin' the pucks on the ice. Thanks you guys for letting me hang with you and take some fun photos for us to remember for many years to come. Enjoy your show!

Young Life & World Vision Pre Party

Last Thursday night Young Life and World Vision hosted an auction pre party. My sister, Hannah made all of these desserts for our special event. My parents and other sister (Emily) came up from Iowa and helped serve and set up for the party. Once again, if you are interested in fine dining desserts, give Hannah a call. Hopefully just looking at these will make you hungry!

Please contact me for more information on attending the Young Life & World Vision Auction at International Market Square on May 1st. We'd love to have you come help make our event a HUGE success

Winter FUN!!!

As we anticipate the coming of Spring (and are asking Spring to come NOW), we just received some pictures our friend Tricia sent us. T took these photos in January when we were over at their house setting up for a Young Life Winter Gala that we did for the kids. Sutton loved riding the 4-wheeler and the sled...Thanks Uncle Matt for buying a 4-wheeler next winter! The joys of living south of the river where you can ride all terrain vehicles anywhere you want (unlike when you live in the cities).

Check this out!!

I had a chance to see this movie during a private viewing while I was in Orlando in January. Ben Stein is brilliant, amazing and has such a dry sense of humor. Stein spoke to our small group before viewing the film and gave a powerful message. You have got to go see this film on April 18th. For those of you that believe in "intelligent design," you will be challenged and for those of you that don't believe in "intelligent design," you will be challenged. Kind of cool that both sides are challenged at the same time! For those of you that know me really well, I don't enjoy movies at all, seriously can't stand movies. However, this film kept me on the edge of my seat. Let me know what you think after you view Expelled.

Enjoy,
BD
